Services

Dunja Indira Psychology is a private practice where I offer evidence-based therapy to support personal growth, healing, and self-discovery. My work takes an integrative approach. This means I take into account all aspects of a person’s life and combine psychological modalities to suit the individual’s needs.

I offer the following two services to adult clients only:
Psychology sessions (clinical support)
Coaching sessions (guidance-focused)

People seek support for many different reasons. Common themes in my work include attachment and relational trauma, relationship difficulties, identity and sense of self, anxiety, burnout, life transitions, perfectionism, self-worth, neurodivergence (Autism and ADHD), and communication or social challenges.

Some of the evidence-based methods I use are Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Internal Family Systems (IFS), as well as mindfulness-based and somatic approaches. I aim to invite compassion and curiosity into the room, helping my clients to connect with their intuition, to be more present in their bodies, and to live life aligned with the values that they care about. My therapeutic style has often been described as warm, grounding, and down-to-earth.

To understand the symptoms someone brings to therapy, it can be helpful to zoom out and take a broader view. Rather than focusing only on symptoms, we look at the wider patterns shaping a person’s life. This may include past and present experiences, relationships, values, and future direction. It also recognises that people’s lives include psychological, emotional, physical, and spiritual dimensions. When appropriate, I may also collaborate with or refer to other practitioners so that different aspects of a person’s wellbeing can be supported.

 FAQs

  • I offer the two services below:

    1. Psychology Services (Australia Only)

I offer evidence-based therapy as an AHPRA registered psychologist to clients who live in Australia. This may or may not include diagnostic assessment. I only offer therapy to those who are within my scope of expertise. If at any point I believe otherwise, I will refer you back to your GP or help you find another suitable professional.

    2. Coaching (Worldwide)

I also offer coaching sessions to clients worldwide. These sessions focus on growth and self-discovery. While grounded in psychology, coaching is not designed for those seeking clinical support. Instead, it offers guidance to enhance certain areas of life (personal, professional, or relational).

Important note: Coaching is not psychological therapy and does not replace mental health treatment.

  • I work with a wide range of presentations including anxiety, stress, burnout, depression, life transitions, neurodiversity (Autism and ADHD), low self-esteem, relationship and attachment challenges, childhood trauma and identity exploration. Some clients also come to me for personal growth, self-discovery, or guidance in navigating life with greater purpose and balance. This might involve navigating a career change. Whether your focus is healing psychological wounds or pursuing personal/spiritual growth, our work together can be tailored to meet your needs.

  • I work with adults of all backgrounds. People of all genders, sexualities, cultures and neurodiverse identities are welcome. Regardless of where you come from or how you identify, I am committed to honouring who you are and your unique experience in this world.

I specifically want to express I acknowledge and respect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples as the Traditional Custodians of the land, and warmly welcome First Nations clients.

  • As a psychologist I primarily work with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), a gentle and practical approach that supports people to live more fully in line with their values, while also learning to master the art of acceptance.

In addition, I draw from depth-oriented and embodied approaches such as Affect Phobia Therapy (APT), which helps people face and work through avoided emotions, and Internal Family Systems (IFS), which supports a compassionate and curious exploration of different inner parts. I also integrate elements of somatic therapy to include the wisdom of the body, as well as techniques from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), where helpful.

In my coaching sessions I might draw from the same frameworks, but I will likely include more practical tools such as the use of affirmations, visualisation techniques and meditation (of which the effectiveness is also supported by research).

My approach is always holistic and neuro-affirming, recognising that each person’s brain and nervous system works in a unique way. I adapt my methods to respect and support neurodiverse experiences rather than pathologising them.

  • Sessions are available both online and in-person in Margaret River, Western Australia. You can view a photo of the consulting space here.

  • No. You do not require a referral. However, if you are using my psychology services in Australia and you are eligible to receive rebates from Medicare, you will require a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) and referral letter from your GP. Australian residents can access rebates for up to ten sessions per calendar year, currently $98.95 per session.

  • I completed both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees at the University of Amsterdam, with additional study in psychobiology and neuroscience. After moving to Australia, I undertook a transitional program for overseas-trained psychologists and am now a registered psychologist with AHPRA.

    Qualifications:
    • Master of Science in Healthcare Psychology (Mastertrack Clinical psychology), University of Amsterdam, 2022
    • Bachelor of Science (Psychology), University of Amsterdam, 2018

  • I tend not to define spirituality too rigidly. Not because I don’t have my own ideas or concepts that I resonate with, but because I want this space to remain as open and welcoming as possible. Spirituality looks different for each person, often shaped by background, culture, and life experiences. I once heard a quote that we all drink from the same river of (divine) truth, yet each of us sees a different reflection in the water. Every reflection - and every version of truth - is valid. If it feels supportive, I can help you explore and connect with yours.
